Main Description: This rifle is a conversion from a .58 cal percussion musket to .50-70 govt. Blade front sight with ramp, adjustable u notched ladder rear sight which is lifting slightly from the barrel, breechblock marked 1870 with eagle and US, lock marked US Springfield 1864, checkered spur hammer that functions, extractor and ejector are present. One piece smooth full military wood stock, straight grip, smooth curved steel butt plate marked US, sling swivels, replaced cleaning rod.

Wear: Metal finish turning brown with light pitting, rust speckles, handling marks and wear. Stock shows marks, scratches and wear.
