Shipping Restrictions
Regarding the shipping of Ammunition, percussion caps and primers (Lots 10000-13800)
1. We are contracted with UPS and due to this we are able to continue to ship ammunition with the following restrictions: UPS will only deliver to areas that are serviced by corporate employees, most of their “outlet stores” are not corporate but franchises and as such ammunition can not be sent to them for pickup. Most of rural Canada is not served by UPS. You must be serviced with a Brown UPS Vehicle.
2. We have made arrangements with the CFO to allow us to send your purchase to an alternative address that UPS services if:
• The recipient has a valid PAL and you send us an email with the recipients: Name, PAL, date of birth, address including Postal Code and a telephone number along with instructions to ship to them. There will be a $10.00 administrative fee for this service, added to your invoice.
3. You will be responsible to ascertain if you, or your alternative are in an area that UPS services for shipments of ammunition before bidding. Please use the link here. It will be on the home page. You will then receive an email stating whether your area is covered or not. If you enter the postal code incorrectly , IE number and letter format errors, it may not work and you may get a wrong answer. All Canadian Postal codes are Letter Number Letter Number Letter Number It should be entered with no spaces. Eg K0L1C0
4. We will not issue any refunds for items that we are not able to ship. If you have purchased lots, and are unable to have them shipped, or sent to an alternative address, your items will be sold in our next auction. You will be charged a reselling fee of 25%.

Canpar and Loomis, FedEx will not carry firearms and ammunition.
Purolator is not accepting new firearms business at this time and when they do, we are told it will be business to business only.
We have been told by customers that other companies are sending them ammunition via, other carriers and UPS. We have no control as to what other companies are doing. Our contract with UPS states that we can only ship to the designated areas, or risk losing our contract.
We have been told by the Ontario CFO, that we are not allowed to ship ammunition to your place of work (unless your work place address is on file with the CFO). It must go to an address that we can validate, to the PAL holder.
As usual you can book an appointment to pick up your purchases at our Auction Hall.

We will return your answer by email. If you wish to speak with one of our staff please include a phone number that you can be reached at. Our staff will be able to contact you once they have the item in hand in order to answer any of your questions. Phone calls will be returned between 10am-2pm est Monday - Friday. We have minimal staff available so email is the best way for us to assist you. We must have your request by 2:00 pm on the day the sale closes. We will not have staff available after this.
We charge HST,PST, and/or GST based on which province your item is being shipped to. For ONTARIO 13% HST. PEI,NS,NFL,NB, 15% HST. BC, 5% GST + 7% PST. SK, 5% GST + 6% PST. MB 5% GST+ 7 % PST. QUE, 5% GST + 9.975% PST. YT,NWT,NU, 5% GST.
USA and International no Canadian Taxes will be charged by us. But you may be charged Taxes and Duties from your government.

If shipping is required for any purchase an additional charge will occur the day the item has been shipped. A $50.00 late payer fee will be added to any invoice that can't be processed at the conclusion of the sale. Please ensure that we have the correct number and expiry. Recurring problem payers will be banned from future sales. Bidders are responsible for full payment of all their purchases at the drop of the hammer. Our Consignors are paid based on the hammer price, therefore, we will make every attempt to mitigate damages to Switzer’s Auction. We will attempt to charge your credit card partial amounts until the amount is paid in full. Any purchase which has not been fully paid will be resold at the next available opportunity to mitigate damages to Switzer’s Auction. Our normal commission charge will apply on re-sale. Any balance remaining unpaid after the resale will be referred to our collection agency, and or small claims court.

Switzer’s Auction does not guarantee or make warranties on any lot. We acknowledge that errors may occur, however we endeavor to give you accurate information in descriptions provided. We are available by email ( admin@switzersauction.com ) and phone (613-332-5581 ) to answer questions and provide additional photographs prior to bidding, if required. We strongly recommend you personally view any item you bid on. No employee of Switzer’s Auction is authorized to make any representation or warranty, oral or written, with respect to any lot or item for sale. Switzer’s Auction will not return or refund money if an item is not exactly in the same condition as listed in online listing. Firearm ratings in the online listing are subjective and are of visual opinion, no mechanical inspection or test firing is undertaken by Switzer’s. Any concern must be addressed with a recognized gunsmith prior to firing any firearm.
CANADIAN BIDDERS: Firearm and Ammunition purchasers require a valid P.A.L. (Possession and Acquisition License). All restricted and prohibited firearms are registered with the Canadian Firearms Program and will be transferred to the purchaser following the completion of the sale and receipt of full payment. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to determine that they have the correct category of license for the intended purchase prior to bidding. You will require a P.A.L. for all Prohibited/Restricted/Non-Restricted category firearms. No P.A.L. is required for Antique category firearms.
Ammunition and Firearms must be shipped to an address on file with the CFO or to a UPS Depot. Ammunition and Firearms cannot be shipped in the same box.
Ammunition will now be shipped exclusively with UPS. We must ship Ammunition to your address on file with the CFO, or a UPS Depot. Please ensure that you have a UPS delivery agent in your area prior to bidding, as UPS does not cover many rural areas.
Any items that are purchased that we are not able to deliver/ or you don’t have a valid license to possess will be sold at the next opportunity, regular commission charges apply to that secondary sale.
As we are selling Firearms and Ammunition it is imperative that bidders/customers provide us their correct information. We require your full correct name as shown on your PAL, PAL number, date of birth, the mailing address that is associated with your PAL. Customers who fail to do so, or who need the paperwork restarted due to an error on their part will be charged an administrative fee of $25.00 per lot. If you have made an error and need to correct it, please email admin@switzersauction.com.

U.S.A./INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS:
Please be advised that we cannot ship any sort of firearm, directly to USA or International buyers. Buyers must use a third-party exporter for these items. In our sale these are lots 1-6599.
We cannot ship receivers, ammunition/primers/primed brass, gun parts, air guns, inert munitions or grenades to USA or International buyers. In our sale, these are lots 4500-4989, 10000- 13999, 14500-14999, 19000-19099,21000-21999 and 28900-28999. These cannot be shipped by us or an exporter. Do not bid on these items.
All USA and International bidders will receive an email that requests bidder to agree to the USA and International bidder terms and conditions. Accounts will not be approved until the bidder has responded that they have read, understand and accept these terms. USA and International bidders can email admin@switzersauction.com to be approved to bid.

You have sole responsibility for your purchases. You and or your importing FFL will be required to file paperwork with BATF in order to be able to import an item. Please check with your FFL and/or BATF regarding import of specific items. Not all firearms are able to be imported/exported into the USA. Note that any items that have been purchased but are deemed “not importable/exportable” will be sold at the next opportunity. Regular commission charges apply to that secondary sale.

You have sole responsibility for your purchases. Please check with your governing body to ensure your intended purchase is importable, as well as the third party exporter to ensure they will be able to export to your country, this should be done prior to bidding. Storage fees of $5.00 per item per month will be charged on all items that we have not been able to send to your exporter within 120 days of the sale. BIDDING: The highest bidder shall be the purchaser and the decision of the auctioneer relating to all matters is final. Pre-bids are time stamped and the earliest bid will win any tie situation. All sales are final and not subject to conditions. All merchandise is sold 'As Is' without recourse to the vendor. All goods advertised or displayed are subject to withdrawal prior to sale within the discretion of the auctioneer. The Auctioneers may reject a bid at their discretion without reason or explanation. Bid increments are fixed for online only auctions. Bid increments are fixed for the pre-bidding and maximum bid portion of Online/Live auctions. Once the sale goes Live the Auctioneer has the option to adjust the bid increments.
Placing your bid is your acceptance of all Terms and Conditions, Buyers Premium, Taxes, Shipping, Pick up and Payment information. Please read them before bidding. Bid retractions will only be permitted when we have made a gross description error, obvious customer bid input errors ($5000.00 instead of $500.00). In the case that we have to resell a lot to a back bidder your are responsible for the difference between your bid and theirs, there will also be a $50 administration fee charged, buyers premium and taxes.

CONSIGNOR BIDDING: Consignors are not authorized to bid on their own items or have someone bid on their behalf. We reserve the right to withdraw any items or bids made by the offending consignor.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:
Except as expressly provided above, all property is sold “As Is'. Switzer's Auction nor the Consignor makes any representation or warranty, express or implied, as to the title, merchantability, fitness or condition of the property or as to the correctness of description, genuineness, attribution, provenance or period of the property or as to whether the purchaser acquires any copyrights or other intellectual property rights in lots sold or as to whether a work of art is subject to the artist's moral rights or other residual rights of the artist. All Firearms and Ammunition are sold as Collector lots only. Fitness to fire or otherwise discharge the Firearm or Ammunition is expressly denied by Switzer's Auction. A competent Gunsmith should be consulted before attempting to use or fire any Firearm or Ammunition. The Purchaser expressly acknowledges and agrees that in no event shall Switzer's Auction be liable for any damages including without limitation any compensatory, incidental or consequential damages.
The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Specific condition requests can be obtained via email at admin@switzersauction.com. Any statement given is strictly an opinion and should not be treated as a statement of fact. Switzer's Auction shall not be responsible for any error or omissions in lot listings.
DE-ACTIVATIONS: We are licensed to perform de-activations. Prices to de-activate vary depending on the type and complexity of the work needed to be performed. We de-activate to the Canadian Firearms Technical Inspection standard, this standard may not meet the standard for export to foreign Countries. Please email admin@switzersauction.com for quotes to de-activate prior to bidding, minimum fee is $100.00 and can increase to $450.00 + for a complicated fully automatic machine gun. Firearms de-activated by Switzer’s will be reported to the Canadian Firearms Registry and once approved a letter of de-activation will be provided.
We sell firearms that have been previously de-activated by others, these may not meet current or exportable standards. Firearms de-activated by other may or may not have a “de-activation letter” available. We are not able to search for letters for firearms de-activated by others.
